Prompting
The Prompting tab is where you define the core identity and behavior of your AI agent. This includes its name, goal, persona, and how it should format its responses.
Agent Identity
Agent Name
This is the internal name for your agent. It helps you identify the agent in your dashboard.
Base Prompt (Goal)
The Base Prompt is the most critical set of instructions for your agent. It defines the agent's primary objective and general behavior.
What to include:
- The agent's role (e.g., "You are a helpful sales assistant.")
- Specific goals (e.g., "Your goal is to qualify leads and book demos.")
- Guidelines on what not to do (e.g., "Do not make up facts about our product.")
- Tone instructions (e.g., "Be professional but approachable.")
Example:
"You are a senior sales development representative for Aimdoc. Your goal is to help visitors understand our AI agent platform and schedule a demo with our sales team. Be concise, helpful, and friendly. Never make up pricing information; instead, direct them to our pricing page."
Buyer Persona
Describe your ideal customer profile here. This helps the AI understand who it is talking to and tailor its language accordingly.
Example:
"Our ideal customers are B2B marketing managers and sales directors at SaaS companies who are looking to automate lead qualification."
Response Settings
Configure how the agent constructs its messages.
Voice Tone
Choose a predefined tone that matches your brand voice:
- Professional
- Friendly
- Casual
- Enthusiastic
- Formal
- Conversational
- Empathetic
- Authoritative
Max Response Length
Set the maximum number of words the agent should use in a single response.
- Short (10-50 words): Good for quick chats and mobile users.
- Medium (50-150 words): Standard for most business conversations.
- Long (150+ words): Useful for detailed technical support or complex explanations.
Reference Links
Toggle Reference links in response to allow the agent to include citations and links from your knowledge base. This builds trust by showing visitors exactly where the information is coming from.
